Akin to the early years of most start-ups, the ‘garage’ office was in fact Colin Hartley’s loft! It was there,
in a somewhat darkened room that most programmers seems to love, the magic began.
Over a one year period, with some additional grey hairs, some insomnia and a lot of fun, a new product was born. queryPoint, subsequently named Genic QueryPoint. It was primarily focused on the FAME DB but had wider appeal. It was a multi-threaded SQL ODBC and JDBC access providing industry standard connectivity to third-party applications. It was subsequently used by over 15 National & Investment Banks.
